Senior Draftsperson / Drafting Team Leader

This role will see you Lead and work alongside a drafting/admin team of approximately 6 to ensure projects are delivered within the designated timeframes.

Reporting to the Operations Manager Your responsibilities will include:
  • Lead and support the Drafting team to produce all drawings and plans, while ensuring quality and timeframes are achieved.
  • High attention to detail while achieving monthly targets for both yourself and the department
  • Liaising with the management, estimating , drafting, contractors, suppliers and project managers
  • Organisation and preparation of drawings and reports for planning permit applications, including liaisons with local council authorities
  • Producing accurate documentation and drawings in line with the building codes and regulations, with a clear understating of the BCA and RES- code
  • Be a self -motivated professional.
  • Ensure drafting team is competent and knowledgeable with all internal software, products, policies and procedures
  • Training and development of new staff members

Essential Requirements:

  • A proven background using ArchiCAD or similar drafting packages would be an advantage.
  • Formal qualification in Architectural Drafting (Diploma or higher)
  • Drafting experience, within the residential building industry would be an advantage
  • The ability to lead and support a cohesive team
  • Freedom to create to develop while showing passion for our client's dreams whilst implementing a high level of attention to detail
  • Superior organisational and time management skills
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of new home construction

  • Liaise and effectively solve site issues
  • Assist our clients throughout the building process, taking responsibility for the progress of their dreams
  • Prepare and follow up documentation
  • Organise and prioritise Contractors/Suppliers
  • Achieve monthly targets for jobs
  • High attention to detail.

Essential Requirements;

  • Ensure OH&S Compliance onsite
  • Exposure to the residential building and/or construction industry
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent presentation with strong customer service skills
  • Superior organisational and time management skills
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision and able to problem solve
  • A positive attitude and pro-active approach with a team focus
